How It All Started
Hi, my name is Gianne Merriman.
To give you some idea of my background, in summary, I undertook a 4 year apprenticeship in Leeds, with a local heating company. Shortly after qualifying, I worked for a national heating company for a further 3 years, gaining invaluable hands-on experience around the UK tackling a diverse array of complex heating projects. Ultimately, armed with this experience and skill I founded my own heating business, GM Heating, which now undertakes local, reliable quality work throughout the whole of Yorkshire. My company prides itself with exceptional customer service, value for money work and reliability, demonstrated by the number of positive customer reviews on both Checkatrade and Google.

CheckaTrade Awards 2025
In 2025, Gianne was nominated for both Sustainability and Plumber of the Year at the regional Checkatrade Awards. He was named Runner Up for Plumber of the Year and won the Sustainability Award for the North of England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland a fantastic achievement that reflects his commitment to driving the business forward and looking after customers properly. Following the regional awards, Gianne was invited to the 2025 national finals at Wembley Stadium, competing against the other regional winners. Although he didn’t take the national title, being a national runner-up is an outstanding result.
